Coaching Career Highlights:
• Helped Vekic rise from No.109 to a then-career-high WTA singles ranking of No.45
• Coached the Croatian to her second career title at 2017 Nottingham
• Has been a Yonex scouting agent since 2015
• Served as the National Captain for boys junior tennis at the Croatian Tennis Federation from 2008-2013 - National head coach for juniors (boys U12 & U14), which included working with the best Croatian juniors, such as Borna Coric
• From 2006-08, Horvat served as the assistant coach for ATP player Mario Ancic. He helped the Croatian reach a singles ranking of No.7 and capture the Davis Cup crown
• In 2007, he was the official captain of the Croatian National Team at the Hopman Cup (Sanja & Mario Ancic)
• Guided Sanja Ancic to a singles ranking of No.159 during their time together
• His first head coaching gig was with Ivana Lisjak (2004-06), where he helped her reach the third round of the US Open (as a qualifier) in 2005 and the third round of Roland Garros in 2006. He brought her from No.384 in the world to a career-best ranking of No.95
• Coached on the ITF Tour from 2001-04
Playing Experience:
• Member of the Croatian Junior National Team in all categories (U12, U14, U16)
• Winner of the Croatian Junior National Championship U14
• Played two years on the pro circuit from 1996-1998 – Satellite Level
Personal:
Earned his Bachelor of Sports Coaching Science from the University of Zagreb. Also holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and is a certified Health Coach by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
