Stakusic fends off Joint comeback in teen clash; wins eighth straight match
In a showdown between rising teens, Canadian 19-year-old Marina Stakusic edged past Australian 18-year-old Maya Joint 2-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(2). World No.110 Joint came back from 5-2 down in the third set before World No.116 Stakusic converted her sixth match point in the tiebreak. Stakusic is on an eight-match winning streak, having won the WTA 125 title last week in Tampico as a qualifier.
