Siniakova saves three match points, escapes teenage qualifier Ishii
No.3 seed Katerina Siniakova came from 5-1 down in the third set, saving three match points trailing 5-3, to defeat 18-year-old Japanese qualifier Sayaka Ishii in the Tennis in the Land first round. Former Top 5 junior Ishii was making her WTA main-draw debut and facing a Top 50 opponent for the first time.
