American Ashlyn Krueger defeated the last remaining Canadian in the singles draw with a 6-4, 6-2 upset of No.15 seed Leylah Fernandez at the National Bank Open on Thursday. The victory led to 20-year-old Krueger's first Round of 16 appearance at a WTA 1000 event.
