Qualifier Uchijima rallies past Tomova to make Toronto second round
Moyuka Uchijima, the Japanese No.1, grinded through a 68-minute first set en route to a 7-6(4), 6-2 win over Viktoriya Tomova in the first round of the National Bank Open on Tuesday. In the second round, 22-year-old qualifier Uchijima will face last year's finalist, No.6 seed Liudmila Samsonova.
