Madrid: Mirra Andreeva bests Paolini to make first WTA 1000 quarterfinal
Mirra Andreeva came from 5-2 down in the first set, saving one set point, to defeat No.12 seed Jasmine Paolini in the fourth round of the Mutua Madrid Open. Andreeva advanced to her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal and notched her eighth career Top 20 win (fourth of 2024) on her 17th birthday.
