A clash of Czech teenagers in the first round of the Livesport Prague Open saw 17-year-old wildcard Lucie Havlickova, the Roland Garros girls' champion, defeat 18-year-old qualifier Barbora Palicova in straight sets. Palicova was making her WTA main-draw debut, and had defeated Havlickova in both their previous encounters - once in juniors and once at pro level.
