A three-hour, 26-minute epic in the first round of the Tenerife Ladies open saw Varvara Gracheva upset No.3 seed Sara Sorribes Tormo, coming from 1-5 down in the third set to do so. The clash was the eighth-longest WTA main draw match of 2021 so far, and the sixth time this season Sorribes Tormo has been involved in a contest lasting over three hours.
