- Founding member and vice-president of the WTA, who was present at London’s Gloucester Hotel when the organization was created on the eve of Wimbledon in 1973… Stellar junior career began with rare feat of winning the Western Australian Women’s Open and junior titles in the same year, 1964, at the age of 14… Won first of three Australian junior titles in 1967… In 1968, won the Australian, French and US junior titles and was runner-up at Wimbledon… Won Australian girls’ title again in 1969… Member of victorious Australian Federation Cup side in 1971, alongside Court and Goolagong… Ranked as high as No.3 nationally, and No.7 in the world before introduction of computer rankings… Achieved best Grand Slam singles result when she reached semifinals at 1971 Australian Open; doubles runner-up the same year (w/Emmerson)… Four-time singles quarterfinalist at US Open between 1970-78 and reached R16 at Roland Garros (1968) and Wimbledon (1971, 1973)… Doubles semifinalist at Roland Garros (1971) and US Open (1970, 72-3) and three time quarterfinalist at Wimbledon… Won Swiss Open in Gstaad in 1977 (d.
