  • Spain's Rebeka Masarova, 23, was the first new Top 100 entrant of 2023 on Jan. 9 after she reached her first WTA final in Auckland via victories over Sloane Stephens and Karolina Muchova.
  • A second Spaniard debuted the following week on Jan. 16. Cristina Bucsa, 25, marked the milestone with a career-best Grand Slam third-round run at the Australian Open as a qualifier.
  • Katie Volynets, 21, qualified for the Australian Open and reached the third round of a major for the first time via a maiden Top 10 win over Veronika Kudermetova. The American was boosted into the Top 100 on Jan. 30.
  • Diana Shnaider, 18, also debuted on Jan. 30 after qualifying for her first tour-level main draw at the Australian Open, taking Maria Sakkari to three sets in Round 2. Shnaider had been unranked 15 months previously, and outside the Top 200 last October.
  • Just 10 months after turning pro and playing her fifth WTA main draw, 2022 NCAA champion Peyton Stearns reached her first final in Bogota. The American entered the Top 100 on Apr. 10 as a result, having been ranked No.383 one year previously.
  • University of Virginia alumna Emma Navarro, the 2021 NCAA champion, broke the Top 100 on May 8. The American, 21, had compiled a 12-match winning streak encompassing ITF titles in Charleston and Charlottesville, then the Saint-Malo 125 quarterfinals.
  • Caroline Dolehide first hit No.102 in July 2018, but in February 2023 was ranked No.206. The American, 24, then made the Monterrey quarterfinals, Charleston third round and cracked the Top 100 on May 22 after winning the Naples ITF W60 event.
  • Elina Avanesyan, 20, entered the Top 100 on Jun. 12 after reaching the fourth round of Roland Garros. Avanesyan was the first lucky loser in the last 16 of a Grand Slam since 1993.
  • Elizabeth Mandlik, daughter of four-time Slam champion Hana Mandlikova, entered the Top 100 on Jun. 19 after the 22-year-old American made her first WTA quarterfinal in Nottingham.
  • Mirra Andreeva, 16, reached the fourth round of Wimbledon as a qualifier playing her fourth tour-level event, and first at any level on grass. She rose to No.66 on Jul. 17, becoming the first 2007-born player to enter the Top 100.
  • Having reached her first WTA final in Nottingham, Britain's Jodie Burrage capped a breakthrough grass swing by reaching the second round of a major for the first time at Wimbledon. The 24-year-old entered the Top 100 on Jul. 17.
  • Kayla Day cracked the Top 100 on Jul. 24 after winning the Granby ITF W100 title. The 23-year-old American had won 20 of her previous 24 matches, also including the Bonita Springs ITF W100 title and a run to the Roland Garros third round as a qualifier.
  • Two weeks after reaching her first WTA quarterfinal in Warsaw, Italy's Lucrezia Stefanini entered the Top 100 on Aug. 7. The 25-year-old plays double-handed strokes on both wings.
  • Ashlyn Krueger, 19, soared into the Top 100 at No.73 on Sep. 18 after winning her first WTA title in Osaka. The American teenager's breakthrough 2023 had also included the 's-Hertogenbosch quarterfinals and Gaiba 125 title on grass in June.
  • Australia's Kimberly Birrell, 25, entered the Top 100 on Sep. 18 a week after reaching the Tokyo ITF W100 semifinals. Birrell had also made her debut WTA quarterfinal in Merida in February.
  • Emina Bektas, 30, became the fourth-oldest player to debut in the Top 100 on Nov. 6 after the American won her first WTA 125 title in Tampico.
