Finals day at the OEC Taipei WTA Ladies Open, and Kristina Mladenovic and Chang Kai-Chen were in both finals.

First up was the singles final, and Kristina Mladenovic prevailed, beating Chang Kai-Chen in straights, 64 63.

Kristina Mladenovic had been pushed to three sets in three of her previous four rounds en route to the final.

But in the final a No.4-seeded Kristina Mladenovic was too sharp against No.5-seeded Taiwanese Chang Kai-Chen.

By virtue of the win, Kristina Mladenovic would soar up the rankings, from No.98 to a new career-high of No.76.

Chang Kai-Chen also made the doubles final with Olga Govortsova - they were the No.2 seeds in the tournament.

The pair also defeated the tournament's No.3 seeds, Chan Chin-Wei and Kimiko Date-Krumm, in the semifinals.

But Kristina Mladenovic was back in that final too, paired with Chan Hao-Ching as the No.1 seeds in the draw.

Kristina Mladenovic and Chan Hao-Ching rallied from 7-2 down in the match tie-break to win the final, 57 62 108.
