Bianca Andreescu is the first wildcard to ever reach the final of the BNP Paribas Open.
Her only previous WTA final came in Auckland earlier this year. She lost to Julia Goerges, another German, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.

The Canadian No.1 is seeking to become the youngest winner of this tournament since Serena Williams won the crown as a 17-year-old in 1999.
Angelique Kerber's previous final came at Wimbledon in July. She beat Serena Williams, 6-4, 6-4, on that occasion.

Kerber has a 12-16 losing record in WTA Tour finals.
She has spent seven hours, 24 minutes on court this week, in contrast to her opponent, who has played nine hours and 17 minutes to come this far.

This will be the first time these players have met.
Both players are in their first Indian Wells final. Previously, Kerber reached the semifinals twice, in 2012 and 2013.

Andreescu will hit a career-high ranking win or lose, with a place in the Top 25 certain if she picks up the title.
