The Czech leads their head-to-head 3-2. Kontaveit won their most recent encounter, though, in straight sets in Brisbane earlier this year, taking the Round of 16 encounter 7-5, 7-6(1). Their two previous matches on clay happened last year, and both lasted over two hours. Kvitova won the first, in Madrid, 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-3; Kontaveit won the second, 7-6(6), 7-6(4).
