Tennis fashion is focused on performance as much as it is on good looks, and nowhere are moisture-wicking and sun protection properties of clothes more important than at the Australian Open.

Maria Sharapova’s NikeCourt Maria Dress fights off heat with zoned mesh insets and Dri-FIT fabric. The zig-zag waist section that widens in the back makes the dress youthful and trendy, while see-through sleeves add a romantic and feminine touch. The pale color gives its best to propel sunrays.

As its name suggests, Elina Svitolina’s and Eugenie Bouchard’s NikeCourt Zonal Cooling Top is focused on keeping players dry, cool and comfortable. Combining strategically-placed engineered mesh zones and sweat-wicking fabric, this high-performance garment offers superior ventilation in a stylish athletic package.

Completing the look are the NikeCourt Dri-FIT Ace Shorts that merge the soft outer knit shorts featuring functional side pockets and breathable built-in elongated shorts for extra support. Enhancing the sporty vibe of this outfit are contrast stripes and short sleeves that also serve as sun protection for shoulders.

Adidas’ Climacool technology helps players stay dry in hot weather, but the company’s Melbourne line goes a step further by delivering a beachwear feel with its casual silhouettes, super soft fabrics and the color palette of teals and yellows. The new collection’s standout piece is definitely the adidas Melbourne Jumpsuit, seen here on Andrea Petkovic.

The lightweight design is highlighted by contrast built-in bra showing through a keyhole opening on the honeycomb mesh back.

Last year’s runner-up Venus Williams debuted her EleVen Aztec collection which captures the vibrant nature of the Australian Open with its geometric overlapping bold colors. The American’s Melbourne campaign was very short this time, so we only got to see the Aztec Love Tank and the Aztec Fly Skirt, both equipped with EleVen Pro-Dri moisture management and EleVen Ozone UV protection.

Australia’s Ashleigh Barty rocked Fila’s latest Heritage collection, which is all about refreshed classic design elements. The Australian's tank and pleated skirt show how a traditional silhouette and simple color palette can produce a contemporary and sophisticated look. Of course, the items are equipped with wicking/breathable fabrics and UV protection.

The colors of Garbiñe Muguruza’s new adidas Spring Stella McCartney outfit are inspired by sunny beaches, while the overall look is feminine and sporty. The tight-fitting adidas Spring Stella McCartney Tank features an exposed, cooling mesh back and classic zipper detail by the neckline. The Spaniard paired the technologically advanced tank with the lightweight flowy Barricade Skirt that offers UPF 50+ UV protection on top of its moisture-wicking properties and perforated front panel for optimal breathability.
