Top billing: Serena delighted by comeback surprise
Serena Williams is delighted with the special present that husband Alexis Ohanian gave her as she prepares for her competitive return to tennis.
The 23-time Grand Slam winner has not competed since winning the Australian Open in January 2017 and is set to come back next week at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
Her husband gave her a unique surprise prior to that return, purchasing space on four billboards to spell out the message: “Greatest momma of all time. Serena Williams G.M.O.A.T. – Alexis Jr + Sr.”
Serena showed her delight at the gesture by posting a video of drone footage that shows her fans the complete sequence.
“I'm so fortunate to have @alexisohanian and @olympiaohanian by my side for my comeback. I love my surprise so much from them. I feel so special. Love you both,” she said.
Now Serena has her sights set on winning the Indian Wells crown for the first time.
