Reigning Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza and Serena and Venus Williams top the WTA Insider Grass Court Power Rankings, while two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova continues to prove her mettle with a week to go before Wimbledon.
The WTA Insider Grass Court Power Rankings are based on an empirical formula that isolates a player's success rate on grass. To measure a player's recent aptitude on the surface, the Insider team applied the following formula:
100% of points earned on grass in 2018
100% of points earned on grass in 2017
75% of points earned on grass in 2016
50% of points earned on grass in 2015
The resulting sum accounts for a player's "Grass Index."
This week's Premier tournament in Eastbourne offers one more opportunity for points before Wimbledon, which begins on July 2nd.
