LIMOGES, France - Ekaterina Alexandrova breezed past compatriot Evgeniya Rodina 6-2, 6-2 to take the title at the Engie Open de Limoges for a second time.
The eighth seed had not dropped a set since her opening match against Olga Govortsova, which she won 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-2.

However, Rodina, seeded seventh, had won every set she had played in the tournament - but while her opponent today enjoyed a close victory in her semifinal against Vera Zvonareva, 6-4, 7-5, she got a pass through after Margarita Gasparyan was forced to retire.
That may have contributed to her off-form performance today - but she was also faced with a rival who was on top of her serve, sending down 12 aces, winning 84 per cent of points on her first serve - and 100 per cent on her second.
21-year-old Alexandrova regains a title she first won back in 2016, when she beat Caroline Garcia 6-4, 6-0 in the final.
