Garbiñe Muguruza won her first match as new WTA World No.1 at the Toray Pan Pacific Open – and although the Top 10 kept their positions this week, there was plenty of shuffling lower down the pack.

Here are this week's most notable rankings movers:

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, +4 (No.23 to No.19): The Russian could not beat Caroline Wozniacki in the final of the Toray Pan Pacific Open, but had an impressive run to get there – in the semifinal against former WTA World No.1 Angelique Kerber she went from leading by a set and 5-2 to trailing 0-3 in the deciding set, but won six of the final seven games to reach her first Premier final since 2015.

Zhang Shuai, +4 (No.30 to No.26): The Chinese No.1 took the second title of her career with a hard-fought 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Aleksandra Krunic in the Guangzhou International Women's Open, reclaiming a title she first won in 2013.

Sorana Cirstea, +6 (No.52 to No.46): The Romanian was seeded fourth in Seoul, and enjoyed two straight-sets wins over Misa Eguchi then Nicole Gibbs before losing in the quarterfinal to Luksika Kumkhum, 6-3, 6-1.

Aleksandra Krunic, +9 (No.65 to No.56): Unseeded Krunic stunned the field to reach the final in Guangzhou, taking Zhang Shuai to a deciding set.

Beatriz Haddad Maia, +13 (No.71 to No.58): The Brazilian had a great run to her first-ever WTA final at the KEB Hana Bank-Incheon Airport Korea Open, taking the first set before ultimately falling to French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko, 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-4.

Kateryna Kozlova, +12 (No.83 to No.71): The Ukrainian had three consecutive straight-sets matches against three consecutive Chinese opponents in Guangzhou, losing to eventual champion Shuai Zhang in the quarterfinal.

Evgeniya Rodina, +10 (No.94 to No.84): The 28-year-old enjoyed a run to the semifinal in Guangzhou where she fell in straight sets to eventual champion Shuai Zhang.

Yanina Wickmayer, +18 (No.116 to No.98): The Belgian reached her second WTA quarterfinal of the year by knocking out Guangzhou top seed Peng Shuai in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

Richel Hogenkamp, +20 (No.119 to No.99): The 25-year-old Dutchwoman made it into her first WTA quarterfinal in over four years - and her first on hardcourts, with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Denisa Allertova in Seoul.
