Konta confirms her choice of Joyce as new coach

Johanna Konta has confirmed the appointment of Michael Joyce as her coach for the 2018 season.
The British No.1 split with Wim Fissette in October after less than a year together. Joyce, meanwhile, worked with Victoria Azarenka in 2017 but the pair have parted ways.
“I’m delighted to confirm that Michael Joyce will be joining my team for 2018,” she said in a statement.
“Michael is a fantastic coach with a great pedigree and I’m really excited to work with him. 2017 has been amazing but I feel like there is so much more to come.
“Our first tournament together will be the Brisbane International and the plan is for Michael to travel with me full time through 2018.”
Joyce previously worked with Maria Sharapova between 2004 and 2011, helping the Russian reach WTA World No.1 and win the 2006 US Open and the 2008 Australian Open.
