Stephens tops Burel in Dubai; sets second-round meeting with No.1 Swiatek
Sloane Stephens, the 2017 US Open champion, outlasted Clara Burel 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 in the first round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Sunday. Stephens will now meet World No.1 Iga Swiatek in the second round. Swiatek leads their head-to-head 2-0, with both wins coming in 2022.
