In what was a close vote between three breakout title-winners of the summer, Bank of the West Classic champion Madison Keys edged out Ericsson Open champion Katerina Siniakova and Citi Open champion Ekaterina Makarova as the WTA Player of the Month in July.
The American won her first title of the season, and first on US soil, in Stanford in emphatic fashion, taking out No.7 seed Lesia Tsurenko, Wimbledon champion and top seed Garbiñe Muguruza and No.6 seed CoCo Vandeweghe in the final three rounds without the loss of a set to claim the Premier-level crown.
