Zheng defeats Fernandez for second time in a month to make Tokyo semis
No.1 seed Zheng Qinwen levelled her head-to-head with No.8 seed Leylah Fernandez with a three-set win in the Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis 2024 quarterfinals. Zheng won the first seven games -- extended her game streak against Fernandez to 15, following her win over the Canadian in Wuhan two weeks previously -- before Fernandez won six in a row to force a decider.
