Starodubtseva tops Avanesyan in Beijing, makes first WTA 1000 Round of 16
Ukrainian qualifier Yuliia Starodubtseva had never beaten a Top 50 player before this week, but she has now defeated two in a row. World No.115 Starodubtseva reached the Round of 16 at a WTA 1000 event for the first time in her career with a 6-3, 6-1 dismissal of Elina Avanesyan on Sunday.
