Carle upsets Kudermetova for second time this season
Maria Lourdes Carle defeated No.8 seed Veronika Kudermetova 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the first round of the Abierto GNP Seguros on Monday. Carle was down a break in both the second and third sets. Carle had previously ousted Kudermetova at 2024 Madrid for her first Top 20 win.
