Cornet comes through three-hour tussle vs. Wickmayer in Cluj-Napoca
Qualifier Alizé Cornet needed 2 hours and 51 minutes to defeat Yanina Wickmayer in the first round of the Transylvania Open. The two 34-year-olds first played at Luxembourg 2009, and had not played since Guangzhou 2017; Wickmayer won both of those, but Cornet now leads the head-to-head 4-2.
