Tsurenko squeaks past Vekic in two tiebreaks, makes Zhengzhou quarters
Qualifier Lesia Tsurenko took a 2-1 lead in her rivalry with Donna Vekic, with all matches coming in 2023, after defeating the No.10 seed in two tiebreaks at the Bank of Communications Zhengzhou Open. The result moved the Ukrainian into her second quarterfinal of the season, and first at WTA 500 level.
