Qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik overturned a 5-2 first-set deficit to defeat Diane Parry in the first round of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships. It was the pair's first pro meeting; Mandlik had also won their 2018 US Open junior encounter.
