Palermo: Avanesyan reprises qualifying win over Alves in R1
Elina Avanesyan had already defeated Carolina Alves 6-3, 7-5 in the final round of Palermo Ladies Open qualifying - and repeated the victory 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 when they met again in the first round of the main draw, with Alves entering as a lucky loser following No.1 seed Martina Trevisan's withdrawal.
