MATCH POINTS
Naomi Osaka and Kristina Mladenovic have split their two meetings. Osaka beat Mladenovic in Dubai last year, but Mladenovic got revenge in the same tournament this year, less than a month ago. This was Osaka's most recent match, and her first and only match she has played since attaining the World No.1 ranking after winning the Australian Open.

Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, who finished as runner-up to Osaka at the Australian Open, leads her head-to-head with seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams 4-2. However, Williams won their most recent match, in the 2017 US Open quarterfinals. All of their meetings have gone three sets.
Angelique Kerber and Yulia Putintseva have not played since their first meeting at Luxembourg in 2010, which Kerber won in straight sets. Reigning Wimbledon champion Kerber is 7-4 this season, while Putintseva is 5-6 in 2019.

Madison Keys has a 2-0 head-to-head lead over Mona Barthel. Both of those straight-set encounters came in a one-month span during 2013, on the grass of Birmingham and Wimbledon.
Caroline Wozniacki is 2-0 against Ekaterina Alexandrova. The Russian is yet to win more than three games in a set against Wozniacki.

This will be the eighth meeting between Karolina Pliskova and Misaki Doi. Pliskova has won five of their seven prior matches, which date back to a Challenger event in Gifu, Japan in 2010. Pliskova defeated Doi in the quarterfinals of that event, and went on to beat her twin sister Kristyna in the semifinals and Sun Sheng-nan to win the title, when she was ranked outside the Top 200.
