MATCH POINTS
Karolina Pliskova was champion here in 2017, when she won her second career grass court singles title. The Czech had been runner-up the year before, losing in straight sets to Dominika Cibulkova.
LOOK: Excellence in Eastbourne - a decade of champions
This will be the first time Pliskova has played Elise Mertens.
Qualifier Polona Hercog faces Simona Halep, seeking her second Top 10 career win - the first came seven years ago in Charleston over Marion Bartoli.
Hercog and Halep played earlier this year in Miami, when the Romanian won 5-7, 7-6(1), 6-2. Their only previous meeting prior to that came a decade ago, in Sofia - when Hercog won 7-6(3), 1-6, 6-2.
Jabeur and Konta meet for the first time in their careers.
Aryna Sabalenka and Caroline Wozniacki meet in a rematch of last year's final, in which the Dane triumphed 7-5, 7-6(5). That was Wozniacki's second Eastbourne title; the first came in 2009 when she defeated France's Virginie Razzano 7-6(5), 7-5 in the final.
