Home favorite Sevastova will look to win her fourth career WTA title and third on clay, while qualifier Kawa is contesting her first WTA singles final in her first main draw appearance.
Kawa, age 26, is the 34th player to make her WTA main draw debut this season, and she has never before contested a final above the $25,000-level on the ITF circuit.
There are 183 places between Sevastova and Kawa in the rankings, with the Latvian having entered the week ranked World No.11, and Kawa checking in at World No.194.
Sevastova is by far the highest-ranked player that Kawa has ever faced, and just the fifth Top 100 player she has ever faced.
Two of her three career Top 100 victories have come in the past three weeks, as she beat American Bernarda Pera (No.74) in Saturday's semifinals, and France's Fiona Ferro (then-No.100) in the quarterfinals of the WTA 125K series event in Bastad, Sweden.
In the doubles final, Latvia will also have representation, as top seeds Jelena Ostapenko and Galina Voskoboeva face Nina Stojanovic and Sharon Fichman in the final.
Ostapenko aims for the fourth doubles title of her career, while Voskoboeva looks to win her sixth.
Stojanovic looks for her first career WTA title of any kind, while Fichman looks to add her second WTA doubles title to the ASB Classic title she won in New Zealand in 2014.
The Canadian was inactive on the professional circuit for nearly two years, not playing from May 2016 through last April.
