Australian Open outfits unveiled: Adidas, Nike and more

In sync with the uplifting atmosphere under the Melbourne sun, tennis fashion companies have largely opted for vibrant color palettes in their Australian Open designs. Inspired by Melbourne's beach landscape, Stella McCartney's new adidas collection is dominated by bright yellow items with a focus on premium performance fabrics and design.

Garbiñe Muguruza and Caroline Wozniacki will both wear the adidas Spring Stella McCartney Tank and the adidas Spring Stella McCartney Skirt. The tank features an exposed, cooling mesh back for optimal breathability and side zipper detail by the crew neck for personalized comfort. The white A-line skirt, featuring yellow built-in compression shorties, is unique for its curved perforated panel along front hem.

The adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade Boost 2018 shoe maximises energy return, maintains control and protects against foot drag during extreme movements.

Adapting to the relaxed atmosphere of the Australian summer, Angelique Kerber's, Jelena Ostapenko's and Kristina Mladenovic's adidas clothes from the Melbourne line are designed to work both for the courts and the beach.

Kerber’s adidas Melbourne Burnout Tank delivers a beachwear feel with its breathable fabric, braided T-back, dropped armholes and relaxed fit.

The German's adidas Melbourne Skirt/Short is a flared fit design, a sporty interpretation of the culotte silhouette.

Kristina Mladenovic has the privilege of debuting adidas’ first ever jumpsuit that includes a bra with removable pads for an optimal fit and built-in briefs for added coverage. The combination of teal and yellow captures the laid back nature of the tournament's host city, just as the loose keyhole opening on the back and honeycomb mesh inserts.

Breaded details on the chest and back of Jelena Ostapenko’s adidas Melbourne Tank in chalk blue, together with breathable, quick-dry fabrics, reflect the mood and aesthetic of the Australian Open's environment.

The French Open champion’s adidas Spring Advantage Shorts feature stretchy inner briefs, oversized contrast elastic waistband, mesh side inserts and pockets.

The adidas Melbourne line is equipped with Climacool technology and UPF 20+.

NikeCourt athletes led by Elina Svitolina will rock the light orange Nike Spring Zonal Cooling Top, whose crew neck, solid cap sleeves and fitted hem help keep the top in place. The Nike Spring Ace Shorts include useful side pockets on the outer mesh shorts, while the extended built-in shorts feature thick contrast stripes coordinated with the top.

Maria Sharapova prepared the Nike Spring Maria Dress, essentially an A-line skirt and crop top connected by stylish zig-zag mesh at waist, which beautifully matches elegant mesh sleeves. Here you can see the dress in the color barely rose, while it also exists in crimson bliss.

Last year’s runner-up Venus Williams will launch the new EleVen Aztec collection, characterized by a mood-lifting geometric print that combines orange, two shades of blue and purple. Inspired by Waves of Change, the overlapping bold colors illustrate a women's ability to conquer the world with a powerful sense of renewal.

Agnieszka Radwanska will wear the Lotto Spring Nixia Dress, which the Pole has already worn this season, in Auckland and Sydney.

Lacoste’s love affair with the color navy continues to thrive in 2018, as we can see in Dominika Cibulkova’s Australian Open dress which was debuted at the Grand Slam’s lead-up tournament in Sydney. Also faithful to traditional looks is Fila, as Karolina Pliskova’s new Heritage clothes utilize the brand’s iconic red, white and navy palette, together with retro-inspired design details like stripes, color-blocking and pleats.

Nicole Gibbs has already shown us New Balance’s Australian Open collection, debuting the Holiday Tournament Dress at the Shenzhen Open earlier this month. The color oxblood is highlighted by coral accents, including the heat transfer NB logo, and white stripe binding at the neckline, racerback and armholes. An all-over dynamic print creates additional stylish visual dimension.

Perforated stretch woven material and mesh double layer skirt bring both style and functionality to this chic and sporty design.
