The 2018 season is heating up—and so is the WTA’s fantasy tennis game: The Porsche Race To Singapore Challenge.

It’s completely free to enter and offers the opportunity to let your tennis expertise shine while taking on friends and fellow fans.

Those fantasy players who competed in previous tournaments of the Tournament Challenge will know the aim of the game is to pick four starters and two alternates for each event. Fantasy points directly correspond to the WTA Rankings points picked up by your chosen players.

Before making your fantasy selections for Indian Wells, consider the choices of an International Tennis Hall of Famer, Monica Seles, who knows a thing or two about the action on the court….

MONICA SELES’ INDIAN WELLS FANTASY PICKS:

Serena Williams

“I would have to start with Serena Williams. It’s a little bit of an unusual pick, but I watched her exhibition and I think that coming back after having her baby and playing in the United States... there’s so much excitement and she’s just one of those players that can play some amazing tennis without any match play.”

Caroline Wozniacki

“After her breakthrough win at the Aussie Open – which really started by winning the WTA Finals in Singapore – I would have to nominate Caroline Wozniacki.

“With her newfound aggressiveness, her focus, and being happy in her off-court life, her game has really come together in a way we’ve all been waiting for. It’s really just wonderful seeing all the hard work paying off.”

Angelique Kerber

“Another pick for me would be my fellow lefty, Angelique Kerber.

“When I played, I liked the spacing of the center court at Indian Wells: you can use your lefty serve out wide.

“Angie had a tough time last year, after her amazing 2016. But this season we’ve seen in her a renewed focus and, most importantly, the belief that she belongs back in the winners’ circle.”

Simona Halep

“I’d like to see someone like Simona Halep play well. The courts at Indian Wells suit her game and she’s a former champion, so obviously she knows what it takes to win there.

“Simona has faced some difficult losses over the past year, but with her great attitude, I believe more big wins will come.”

Looking to take a chance on your picks? Check out Seles’ sleeper picks:

Sleeper Pick: Maria Sharapova

“She probably hasn’t played as well as she would have liked since she’s come back, but she lives nearby in LA and I think that helps. She’ll have a kind of ‘home-town feel’ with the crowd.

“If her game is on, she’ll be a tough one to beat on those courts.”

Sleeper Pick: Madison Keys

“Madison Keys is another big-hitter who’s hard to beat on her day. She can capitalize on the thin air at Indian Wells and the bounce off the courts.”

Sleeper Pick: Daria Kasatkina

“The young Russian is building momentum and played great tennis to reach the final in Dubai. She’s still able to play without anything to lose.”

Sleeper Pick: Timea Babos

“The Hungarian is a player who can break through too, because she’s very close. “She’s been doing very well in doubles, and won the singles title at Taipei. I’ll be following her closely!”
