SINGAPORE - It's been an incredible 12 months for Aryna Sabalenka. The 20-year-old won her first WTA singles title at the Connecticut Open before lifting the WTA Premier 5 title at the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open. On the back of those achievements, she broke into the WTA Top 20, reaching a new career-high singles ranking of No.11.
The Top 10 players will not want to be drawn against her - she has eight wins over them as a group this year, the second-most on tour.
She was impressive on the Grand Slam stage too as she enjoyed her surge in form during the second half of the year, making her best-ever run at the US Open when she reached the Round of 16.
