As we’re approaching the end of the WTA year, players are giving their last atoms of energy to crown the season with their best performances, while tennis apparel companies are there to take care of their comfort and good looks on the court.
Marija Zivlak of Women’s Tennis Blog will give us an overview of the best WTA fashion that ruled tournaments in October.
Nike is among rare companies who have released new apparel after the US Open and the leading item in the winter collection is the bordeaux version of the NikeCourt Dri-FIT Dress, which received prime exposure as Elina Svitolina clinched the prestigious BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global title in it. The standard racerback design is enhanced by soft sweat-wicking fabric and sporty side seam piping.
Daria Kasatkina booked her WTA Top 10 debut in style, wearing the NikeCourt Dri-FIT Short-Sleeve Top and Skirt en route to the champion’s trophy at the VTB Kremlin Cup in Moscow.
The Russian’s classic shirt is perfectly complemented by the slim-fit skirt that brings life to the entire outfit with its vibrant and fluid linear print. To ensure optimal comfort, Nike made the skirt available in two lengths and equipped it with built-in compression shorts, while the top boasts curved hem that adds coverage in the back.
Singapore runner-up Sloane Stephens opted for a more subdued version of Kasatkina’s look, pairing the bordeaux NikeCourt Dri-FIT Short-Sleeve Top with habanero red NikeCourt Dri-FIT Skirt, which brings figure-flattering A-line silhouette to the next level with its ribbed, double-knit fabric. Contrasting Swoosh and waistband stripe are sleek details in this functional and trendy skort.
Wang Qiang excelled throughout the Asian Swing this season, posting six Top 20 wins, while in October the 26-year-old made the China Open semifinals and Hong Kong final, promoting a stunning adidas by Stella McCartney ensemble.
Stella made a simple red A-line Fall Skirt outstanding with strategically-placed laser perforations that add both functionality and texture. The NYC Tank also boasts laser-cut venting, while its side colorblocks that fuse with the elegant skirt visually slim the waist.
Julia Goerges won her second title of the season at the BGL Luxembourg Open this October and she looked the part during the trophy ceremony wearing the Asics Fall Gel-Cool Athlete Tank and Skirt. Nurturing clean and simple silhouettes, Asics focuses on advanced sweat-wicking properties and shapes that allow maximum freedom of movement.
