Darren Cahill, longtime coach to WTA World No.1 Simona Halep, announced on Friday that the pair have ended their partnership ahead of the 2019 season.
Cahill, who joined the Romanian's coaching team in 2015, will be taking a 12-month haitus for family reasons, expressing a wish "to be home more for support as our children enter important stages of their lives."
Since partnering with Cahill, Halep became World No.1 at the end of 2017, and finished atop the WTA rankings for a second straight year after winning her maiden major title at this year's French Open.
