Match Facts
Elina Svitolina already has four singles titles to her name this season, including two other Premier 5 events at Rome and Dubai, but she is looking for a first Rogers Cup title.
Svitolina became the first Ukrainian to reach the Top 10 in the WTA rankings by capturing the Dubai title in February. She beat Caroline Wozniacki in the final and now owns an 8‐2 win-loss record in singles finals.
Wozniacki, 2010 Rogers Cup champion in Montreal, had never won a match in Toronto before this year but will now be playing for her second Canadian title and first trophy of the season.
After finishing 2016 as the WTA World No.19, Wozniacki is back up to No.6 following a superb year. This is her sixth final of 2017 although she has yet to come out on top.
Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova, the top seeds, will be going for their second straight Rogers Cup doubles title.
