TOKYO, Japan - Reigning BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global champion Dominika Cibulkova closed out Thursday's night session with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Katerina Siniakova, edging into the quarterfinals at the Toray Pan Pacific Open.
The Slovak veteran put on an impressive performance against the 21-year-old Siniakova, who has already won two WTA titles in 2017, hitting 16 winners to 13 unforced errors and breaking serve five times to secure victory in 68 minutes.

Cibulkova started to show signs of improvement after a tough season ahead of the US Open, reaching the final of the Connecticut Open presented by United Technologies.
Narrowly losing to eventual champion Sloane Stephens at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in the second round, the 28-year-old nonetheless took that momentum to Tokyo, where she is yet to drop a set.
