Viktoriya Tomova improved to 4-0 against Tatjana Maria overall after coming from 5-3 down in the second set to defeat the No. 3 seed in the MSC Hamburg Ladies Open first round. The match was their first clay-court encounter; Tomova has now notched wins over Maria on hard courts, grass and clay, all since the start of 2024.
