- Founding member of the WTA, who was present when players voted to create the organization at London’s Gloucester Hotel on the eve of Wimbledon in 1973... Upon turning pro in 1977, reached 3r at Roland Garros for best Grand Slam singles result (l. eventual champion Jausovec)... Her 2r opponent at 1978 Wimbledon was Navratilova, who went on to capture the first of her nine singles titles at the All England Club... Enjoyed best results in doubles, reaching final of 1978 Australian Open with Japan’s Naoko Sato and collecting three titles in 1983, one at Kitzbühel and two in back-to-back weeks at Tokyo... After retiring from play, launched career as an administrator and official, becoming a WTA Tour and Grand Slam supervisor and referee... Served as competition manager for Sydney 2000 Olympics tennis event... Received Tennis Australia’s Spirit of Tennis Award at the 2024 Australian Tennis Awards for services to the game.
